In Daycare of Rock, when Gwen said the word lightning, Lightning ran to Gwen. When a dragon made out of magic paint attacks the school, Lightning works with his friends to defeat him. In Not for the Paint of Heart, Lightning and Owen team up with Izzy when she believes Chef wants them to destroy the daycare using paint. After a long journey, she changes her mind, and the boys are happy. In Mad Math: Taffy Road, Lightning, Duncan and Owen get frustrated at Courtney when she refuses to share her taffies with them. They stay at the daycare with Owen while their friends try to fix Cody. In CodE.T., Lightning and Sugar are shocked and horrified to find out Cody is an alien. Without a mascot, the kids fail the test. Lightning, Owen and Izzy try to protect him as much as they can. When everything is going well, other mascots come for Thingameroo. The other kids are terrified of it at first, but then decide to give the mascot a chance. Lightning, Owen and Izzy create their owen mascot: Thingameroo. In Thingameroo, Lightning and the kids need motivation in order to train for the Sportslete Athlaction Awards. Lightning thinks that Thingameroo is a little odd. In the end, Lightning is happy to give Chef some of his own medicine. After all the kids get their mind controlled by Chef, Lightning and Cody are able to save the day using magnets. When Duncan and Gwen start acting weird as a part of a "school exchange program", Lightning notices something isn't right. In A Dingo Ate My Duncan, Lightning's the only one to protect Cody after the kids keep hurting him while trying to use a boomerang. When it rains all day, Lightning, Izzy, Courtney and Cody keep talking about fictional scenarios where playing with a ball inside the daycare is dangerous and could create a hole in the wall. In A Hole Lot of Trouble, Lightning assembles a team to play catch. Lightning is the only one who treats Cody with respect. In the end, they are shocked to find out Tommy is a burglar. In Dial B for Birder, Lightning, Cody and Beth are impressed with Chef's new parrot Tommy, which annoys Sugar. In the end, Cody is able to become the king and win the videogame, and Lightning watches him proudly. Lightning fights a monster several times, but has no luck. He acts like a hero and tries to help his friend Cody all the way. In Cody the Barbarian, Lightning is excited to help Cody during his quest in a live action videogame. In the end, the pool is destroyed by squirrels and no group wins the war. Lightning, Owen and Courtney face off against Sugar's group in an epic water battle. He takes sides with Courtney and Owen to obey Chef and not touch the hose while he is gone. In WaterHose-Five, Lightning and the rest of the kids get frustrated when the air conditioner breaks. Lightning and Owen decide to obey Chef's rules. After the weekend, he comes back just to find Chef was trapped inside all along. He gets thrown out of the daycare for pick up hour. They find out Chef is excited for the long weekend, saying he won't miss them. In Say Hello to My Little Friends, Lightning and the kids clean the daycare. Lightning refuses to go into Harold's dream machine. He is a bit surprised by Duncan and Gwen's usual behavior. In I Dream of Meanie, Lightning wakes up from his nap thanks to Cody's screams. Lightning seems a bit worried that weird things will often happen at the school. Lightning and Duncan team up in an effort to save Cody, but in the end, Leshawna and Sugar save the day. When a Komodo dragon appears at the daycare, things get dangerous. Lightning easily beats Duncan at everything. Unlike the other kids, Lightning treats Cody with respect. Harold, Owen and Cody think he is the coolest kid ever, but Duncan is not very happy with it. He introduces himself by showing off his athletic skills and high aspirations to be the greatest at everything. Lightning joins the daycare in Sugar & Spice & Lightning & Frights. He also has better social skills than his teenage self, capable of motivating others with a speech, and he doesn't refer himself in third person as much. ![]() In fact, Lightning is practically the only person who doesn't mistreat Cody the way many of the other characters in the show do, a contrast to the older Lightning who never shows respect to anyone but himself. Most of Lightning's negative traits from the main series have been toned down instead of a rude, aggressive bully who only thinks of himself, Lightning in this series shows more heroic traits such as saving Cody from one of Duncan's traps and later chastising him for his cruelty. Much like his older self, Lightning is an athlete without fear and aims to be the best.
